Pumpkin Carving With Goats Near Houston: A ROSE Fall Tradition
Pumpkin carving is usually pretty simple: pick a pumpkin, carve your masterpiece, and clean up the giant pile of pumpkin guts afterward.
At ROSE Therapeutic Farm, we do things a little differently.
Here, you might have a goat standing beside your pumpkin, a sheep waiting for a snack, a pig cleaning up the scraps—and sometimes even a cow joining the party.
Welcome to Pumpkin Carving With Goats at ROSE Therapeutic Farm, one of our favorite traditions of the year and a huge hit every October.
This Is Not Your Normal Pumpkin-Carving Table
The animals aren't standing behind a fence watching you carve. They're right there with you.
Our goats wander through the carving area, investigate everyone's pumpkins and aren't shy about getting involved. Some put their front feet right up on the table to inspect your work. Others are mainly interested in the pumpkin's contents. Sheep and pigs may join the fun, and sometimes even our cows decide they need to see what everyone is doing.
It's wonderfully interactive—and you never quite know who your next carving assistant will be.
The Best Cleanup Crew in Texas
One of the best parts? Don't worry about the pumpkin mess.
The animals love helping with cleanup. Pumpkin pieces, seeds and all those messy scraps become snacks for some very enthusiastic farm animals.
The goats are happy to help. The sheep are happy to help. The pigs are extremely happy to help.
It's recycling—ROSE Farm style.
A ROSE Tradition Every Weekend in October
Pumpkin Carving With Goats has become one of our most popular annual traditions, and we bring it back every weekend in October.
Families make it an annual tradition, couples turn it into a completely different fall date, and groups of friends spend an afternoon laughing over pumpkins and animals.
Because ROSE isn't a giant festival farm, the focus stays on the animals, the experience and spending time together.
What Does Pumpkin Carving With Goats Cost?
Adults ages 14+: $26 Children ages 3–13: $16 Children 2 and under: free
An adult ticket includes a pumpkin to carve and carving utensils, along with access to the farm. Children 13 and younger can help their grown-up design, scoop and create the pumpkin, but carving utensils are for adults.
We generally recommend about two people per pumpkin. All attendees need a ticket, and children must attend with a parent or adult.
Explore the Farm While You're Here
Pumpkin carving is only part of the visit. You'll also have time to explore ROSE Therapeutic Farm and meet many of the 200+ animals who call the farm home.
Specialty experiences such as Baby Goat Snuggles and Cow Cuddles may be available separately, depending on the date.
A Fall Date That Is Definitely Not Dinner and a Movie
Bring your favorite person, carve a pumpkin together and see which one of you gets distracted by the animals first.
You're welcome to bring your own beverages and make an afternoon of it. It's relaxed, interactive and definitely not your typical fall date.
Want a Private Weekday or Team-Building Event?
You don't have to wait for the weekend.
During October, we're happy to arrange special weekday Pumpkin Carving With Goats experiences for corporate groups, team-building events, schools, homeschool groups, organizations and private gatherings.
It's hard to have awkward team-building small talk when a goat is standing at your table trying to inspect your coworker's pumpkin.
If you'd like to plan a private October experience, contact us and we'll help create a farm visit for your group.
